The Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. (Mrs.) Charity Gardiner, has held a staff durbar with members of staff of the Office of Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council (AhRCC) to officially begin the 2026 working year. The programme took place on Tuesday, 7th January 2026, at the RCC Conference Room, and brought together all staff from both decentralized and non-decentralised departments of the Council.

In his opening address, the Chief Director of the Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council, Mr. Joseph Frimpong Naayo, warmly welcomed the Regional Minister, management, and staff to the gathering. He explained that the purpose of the durbar was to formally commence the year’s work, provide an opportunity for interaction between the Regional Minister and staff and reaffirm their collective commitment to efficient and effective service delivery in the Ahafo Region. He noted that the durbar also served as a platform for open dialogue, reflection on the previous year’s performance and discussion of expectations, challenges and priorities for the year ahead.

Addressing the staff, Hon. (Mrs.) Charity Gardiner first welcomed all staff back from the festive season and wished them well in the new year. She expressed appreciation for their dedication and sacrifices in the discharge of their duties and encouraged them to return to work with renewed energy, focus and commitment. The Regional Minister reiterated that she remains fully committed to providing the leadership required to steer the region towards effective governance, coordinated development and improved public service delivery. She assured staff that her office would continue to provide guidance, support, and the necessary resources to enable them to perform their duties efficiently.

She further emphasized that the government will continue to align its programmes, operations and conduct with the vision of His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama and his RESET agenda, ensuring that all initiatives contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.
Hon. Mrs. Gardiner also highlighted the importance of discipline, teamwork and accountability in public service delivery, stressing that the RCC plays a critical coordinating role in supporting Municipal and District Assemblies (MDAs) to successfully implement government policies and development programmes in the region. She urged staff to remain professional and innovative in the performance of their duties.

The durbar also featured an open forum, providing all staff members with the opportunity to raise concerns, share ideas and make suggestions on issues affecting their work and the region as a whole, including logistics, welfare, capacity building and other developmental matters. Management assured staff that the concerns raised would be addressed in line with established administrative procedures and available resources.
