The Information Services Department (ISD), Ahafo Region, provided live coverage of the two-day Regional Accountability Series held in the region on October 9 and 10, 2026, using the Department’s Information Van/Rig to broadcast activities and keep the public informed about the programme.
The exercise featured President John Dramani Mahama and the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Mrs. Charity Gardiner, who led the inspection and commissioning of development projects across the region as part of the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective monitoring of development initiatives.
The ISD Information Van/Rig played a vital role in facilitating the live streaming of activities throughout the programme, enabling members of the public to follow proceedings and receive timely information about the President’s visit and the government’s development agenda for the Ahafo Region.
Key activities covered included the inspection of the ongoing meat and poultry processing factory at Bechem, the Farmers Service Centre at Nkrankrom in the Asunafo North Municipality, the Tepa–Goaso Road, CHPS compounds, the Yeredua Project, and the Ntotroso Bridge, among other development projects.
The Department also covered the commissioning of the Bureau of National Intelligence (BNI) Regional Office in Goaso and the citizens’ engagement with President Mahama, which provided a platform for residents to interact with the President, express their concerns, and discuss development priorities affecting their communities.
The deployment of the Information Van/Rig demonstrated the importance of the Department’s audiovisual equipment in supporting public information dissemination, enhancing government communication, and extending the reach of official programmes through live streaming.
The exercise reaffirmed the role of the Information Services Department in bridging the information gap between the government and the public by providing timely, accurate, and accessible information on government policies, programmes, and development projects.
Ahafo ISD remains committed to leveraging its communication resources, including the Information Van/Rig, to promote public awareness, transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in the development process.
