On August 1, 2025, the National Entrepreneurship and innovation program (NEIP) commenced monitoring organizations selected to train youth across the country under the Adwumawura program with African Youth League (AYoL) Hub serving as the identified potential training Hub in the Tano North constituency of the Ahafo Region.
Towards the vision of empowering youth with skills and knowledge to drive economic growth and under the leadership of the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, the NEIP is working tirelessly to ensure that the Adwumawura program achieves its ambitious goals for youth active engagement in the economic progress of the country
Madam Gertrude Adzo Borklo, speaking on behalf of the NEIP entourage stressed the ‘’Adwumawura’’ program’s commitment to inclusive development and added that the program aims to benefit at least 60% of women, persons with disabilities, unemployed youth, School dropouts and individuals from conflict-affected communities. As the Adwumawura program takes root in Tano North, the youth of Tano North can look forward to a brighter future filled with opportunities for self-discovery, innovation and entrepreneurship.
With the government’s unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, this program is set to become a shining example of what can be achieved when vision, leadership and resources are brought together for the sustainable development goals to be realized.
Under the Adwumawura program, youth entrepreneurs and business owners will receive critical enterprise-related training and coaching by the earmarked training hubs in order to build novel competences including soft skills for pushing the fortunes of businesses and start-ups and for socio-economic impact in communities. The NEIP’s Adwumawura mission coincides with the African Youth League’s (AYoL Hub’s) youth-driven agenda of using strategic approaches to coach, train and support a thriving ecosystem of youth entrepreneurs, start-ups and experienced business leaders for vibrant local economies that is capable of driving the national growth and development agenda. The AYoL Hub has great reputation as business and enterprise-leadership trainer for youths in the Tano North Municipality and has successfully rolled out great training programs including the novel ‘’SDG Lifelong Learning Services Program’’ that has over seventy training modules encompassing hard entrepreneurial skill-sets for rural enterprise development/management and soft skills training modules to sharpen start-up leadership, business success, risk taking and wealth creation for socioeconomic impact. The identification of the African Youth League by the NEIP team is remarkable sign of great local partnerships building as the African Youth League has proven versatile in the field of training and coaching of rural youths to supporting entrepreneurial growth and success. AYoL Hub is a youth coaching and training services partner with great youth empowerment track record and has consistently impacted youth entrepreneurs and innovators through strategic grass-root initiatives that leverage local business awareness and competence needs of rural business owners. Its selection by NEIP as an implementation partner of the “Adwumawura” project promises to bring remarkable impact prospects to the youth development needs of the Tano North Municipality

The Adwumawura Program marks a significant milestone in Ghana’s journey towards economic growth and youth empowerment under President John Dramani Mahama’s government and leadership. As the program continues to gain momentum, it’s clear that the future of Ghana’s youth is predictably great.
With its innovative approach to supporting youth entrepreneurship, inclusive program design, and commitment to excellence, the Adwumawura program is set to contribute to new entrepreneurs and innovators that will play significant role in absorbing the teaming unemployed youths while catalyzing the gains anticipated in the 24hour economy.
As a popular quote of Rita Wilson notes, “awareness is empowering”. By becoming aware of the competence needs of youth entrepreneurs and offering great, targeted training to enterprise leaders, Adwumawura is no less a catalyst for empowering generations of business change makers, economic boosters and innovators without limit.
