Three Municipal and Three District Chief Executives (MDCE) including their coordinating Directors (MDCD) within the Ahafo Region on Wednesday 1st March 2023 signed a performance contract with the Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council (AhRCC).
The signing of the performance contract at the RCC forms part of the Performance Management System of the Local Government Service targeted at ensuring high productivity at all state institutions.
Hon. George Boakye, Ahafo Regional Minister, who signed for the RCC charged the MDCEs and MDCDs to pursue their respective goals and objectives in a manner that will not distaste supervision.
“The key mechanism in implementing a performance management system is to achieve targets or set goals bearing in mind that the contract has become a force to ensure that management and the staff of assemblies know what is expected of them,” he reiterated.
The Regional Minister speaking at the event said the performance chart of the various MMDAs was published across the country some months ago and that Municipal and District Assemblies in the Ahafo Region performed abysmally. As result, Regional Minister urged the MDCEs and their respective MDCDs to work hard to fulfill the overall goal of the respect MDAs.
Hon. Anthony Mensah, DCE for Asutifi North District Assembly who spoke to the UTV and ADOM TV shortly after signing his contract, described the event as one which will keep the various assemblies within the region focused on their mandates and urged his colleague MDCEs to support MDCDs and further motivate the staff well to work hard to achieve their target.
The Asutifi North District Chief Executive in his concluding remarks urged all Municipal and District Chief Executives and Municipal and District Coordinating Directors to make sure that the next performance of all MDAs that will be posted should have MDAs from Ahafo Region topping the chart.
