AHAFO REGIONAL MINISTER HOLDS FIRST 2026 MEETING WITH HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS

The Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. (Mrs.) Charity Gardiner, has held the first meeting for the year 2026 with Heads of Departments in the region to discuss key issues affecting regional development and service delivery. The meeting, which officially marked the beginning of the 2026 working year, took place on Thursday 15th January, 2026 at the RCC Conference Room.


The meeting brought together Heads of both centralized and decentralized departments operating under the Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council. It served as a platform for dialogue and engagement on government policies, programmes, and strategies aimed at accelerating socio-economic development and improving service delivery across the Ahafo Region.


Delivering the welcome address and outlining the purpose of the meeting, the Regional Co-ordinating Director of the Ahafo RCC, Mr. Joseph Frimpong Naayo, warmly welcomed the Regional Minister and all Heads of Departments. He expressed appreciation for their continued commitment to duty and co-operation with the RCC. Mr. Naayo explained that the meeting was convened to strengthen coordination among departments, review ongoing programmes and enhance collaboration to ensure effective and efficient service delivery across the region. He encouraged the HODs to actively engage in the discussions, share experiences and propose practical solutions to challenges confronting their respective sectors.


In her address, Hon. (Mrs.) Charity Gardiner underscored the need for strengthened collaboration, coordination, and accountability among departments to ensure effective implementation of government initiatives. She emphasized that development can only be achieved when departments work in harmony, align their operations with national development priorities and remain committed to delivering quality services to the people of Ahafo.
The Minister also reiterated government’s commitment to aligning all regional programmes and activities with the vision and reset agenda of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama. She encouraged Heads of Departments to demonstrate professionalism, innovation and dedication in the discharge of their duties, stressing that their leadership roles are critical to translating policy decisions into tangible benefits for communities.

An open forum formed a key part of the meeting, allowing Heads of Departments to freely share concerns, challenges and suggestions affecting their work and the region as a whole. The interactive session promoted frank discussions, experience sharing geared towards collective problem-solving, while strengthening collaboration between the political leadership and technical officers.

In her closing remarks, Hon. (Mrs.) Charity Gardiner thanked all participants for their active engagement and constructive contributions, describing the meeting as productive. She urged Heads of Departments to implement the resolutions discussed and remain accountable in the delivery of their mandates. She concluded by reaffirming alignment with the President’s vision and reset agenda and called for unity and renewed commitment to advancing development and improving service delivery in the Ahafo Region.
