AHAFO REGION WELCOMES NEWLY APPOINTED REGIONAL MINISTER, HON. CHARITY GARDINER

On Monday, 10th February, 2025, the Ahafo Region led by the Chief Director, Mr. Sampson Amoako Kwarteng, welcomed the newly appointed Regional Minister, Hon. Charity Gardiner to the region at a colourful ceremony to officially commence her tenure.
Among the important personalities and stakeholders who joined the team to usher her in were the members of the Regional Security Council, Senior Staff of the Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council (AhRCC), Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chiefs, the Clergy, Members of the Media and the general public.
Upon arrival at the precincts of the Office of the Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council, she was met by a Quarter Guard parade which had been mounted in her honour by personnel drawn from the Military, Police, Prisons, Fire and Immigration Services. This beautiful event was not only representative of the honour and dignity being accorded the high office she had been appointed to occupy but symbolises the solidarity, support and co-operation that the security services were going to accord her during her term in office.
Furthermore, as part of activities lined up for her investiture, she met with members of core Management and the general staff at the AhRCC.


The Chief Director used the opportunity to congratulate the Hon. Regional Minister on her appointment. He recounted how her outstanding performance at the vetting and subsequent approval by parliament was a source of pride. He pledged the unflinching loyalty of all the staff to the Hon. Regional Minister.
During her interactions at the meetings, Hon. Charity Gardiner, the Ahafo Regional Minister, expressed her profound gratitude to His Excellency the President for the honour done her, by appointing her to represent him in the Ahafo Region. She expressed her delight to meet and work with all the staff. Hon. Gardiner stressed that the politics was over and that there was the need for all hands to be on deck to build a just and prosperous society for all. She noted that collaboration, togetherness and teamwork were the hallmark of any progressive institution and should be given a place in the AhRCC.
She thanked the Chief Director, Management and the staff for the warm reception accorded her and pledged to work assiduously in achieving common goals for the region in line with the vision of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the President of the Republic of Ghana. She finally thanked the staff for making their maiden meeting a success.
