As part of the processes leading to the approval of the Government’s Fiscal and Economic Policy (Budget) Statement for 2025, the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, along with its agencies, was invited to meet with the Parliamentary Sub-committee on Local Government and Rural Development.
On Monday, March 24, 2025, the Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council (AhRCC) appeared before the Sub-committee, in accordance with the scheduled proceedings, to defend its Budget Estimates. The budget presentation covered the Compensation of Employees (CoE) and allocations for Goods & Services (G&S) provided to the AhRCC and its departments, based on the government-approved ceilings. In addition to presenting the 2025 budget estimates, the team also reviewed the budget performance for the year 2024.
The Sub-committee expressed its satisfaction with the region’s presentation. Through its Chairperson, the Sub-committee lauded the AhRCC and subsequently recommended the budget for approval by the plenary.
The AhRCC team was led by the Hon. Regional Minister, Hon. Charity Gardiner, accompanied by the Chief Director, Mr. Sampson Amoako Kwarteng; the Regional Budget Analyst, Mr. Samad Luriwie Kanton; and the Regional Internal Auditor, Mr. Ismael Akwo Kafari.
