On the 18th October, 2022, a delegation of Nananom paid a courtesy call on the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. George Boakye at Regional Coordination Council (RCC), Goaso.
The purpose of the visit was to interact with the Regional Minister in order to keep him abreast of the challenges and concerns of the Kasapin chiefs and their environments in the region. Mr. Sampson A. Kwarteng, Regional Coordinating Director, welcomed the delegation on behalf of the Regional Minister.
The delegation was represented by Nana Kwame Asamoah II, chairman of the Associated Chiefs. Roads were among the main issues they raised. “The contractor (Kofi Job) has left the bediako-kasapin site, and the Regional Minister should come to our aid in this matter,” he said.
He added that the Regional Minister should help them with the merger of the E-block community day Senior High School built by the government and the current day Senior High School built by the community as a college of education.
Furthermore, Nana Asamoah II requested that the Regional Minister assist them in establishing a police station to provide security for the people of Kasapin and its environs. He also requested that the Regional Minister pay a courtesy call on the people of Kasapin and its surrounding towns.
Lastly, Kasapin Assembly Member Hon. Solomon Apkro raised concerns about security, youth drug abuse, a lack of street lights, and transformer issues, pleading with their Minister to intervene.
Mr. Sampson Kwarteng thanked the House of Chiefs and the Assembly Man for their responses to the concerns raised. He assured them that he would relay their concerns to the Regional Minister, who would take appropriate action.
Furthermore, Mr. Kwarteng advised the Nananom delegation that some of their concerns should be directed to the MMDAs for assistance.
