On Monday, November 15, 2021 a delegation from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) pay a courtesy call on Regional Minister at the Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council.
This visit forms part of a week- long African study tour for senior staff course. The delegation comprised about 35 officers of the military at various ranks including Lieutenants, Lieutenant Colonels, Colonels and Majors from Ghana and Nigeria.
Colonel Kwaku Parber, who led the delegation said the team was at AhRCC to learn about the roles traditional authorities play in local governance. He said, the nature of the research was very important as it provided an all inclusive partnership, growth and capacity building for military officers
In a brief response, Hon, George Boakye said that he was happy to receive the Military men in his office, stating that, Ahafo is endowed with rich natural resources, and that the need for such visits to learn more about socioeconomic developments cannot be over emphasized
The Regional Coordinating Director, Mr. Ebenezer Amoah, took turn to educate the military men about Traditional Leadership and the Local System of Governance: Optimising Progressive coexistence for the socioeconomic development of Ghana.
Questions raised centered on revenue mobilization, security, development and others which will enhance their research work which forms part of the study tour.
