On Tuesday, 5th October, 2021 a ceremony was organized to swear into office six (6) confirmed Chief Executives of the Ahafo Region.
A short but colorful event at the Ahafo RCC hall, saw the swearing in of the newly appointed and confirmed Municipal/District Chief Executives who were nominated by the President of the Republic of Ghana (Nana Addo Dankwa Akofu-Addo) to enable them commence and fulfill their constitutional mandate for the respective assemblies.
The ceremony was graced with the presence of the Regional Minister (Hon. George Boakye), Regional Chief Director (Mr. Ebenezer Amoah), President of the Regional House of Chiefs (Omanhene of the Goaso traditional area, Nana Kwasi Bosomprah I), Chiefs from various traditional council within Ahafo Region, the press and some staff of the RCC.
In a speech delivered by the Hon. Minister, he congratulated the Chief Executives for their nomination and successful confirmation, he urged them to work assiduously and diligently for their respective assemblies since they are accountable to the people. He further entreated them to work and relate well with the various departments of the assembly and opinion leaders to resolve the bread and butter issues such as unemployment, illegal mining activities, proper education. Also, he admonished them to desist from engaging themselves in any activity that will bring the assembly and region into disrupt and take advantage of the laudable government projects and proper interventions such as One District One Factory, Planting for food and job programs in their communities.
Ending his speech, he urged the newly sworn in chief executives to regularly visit their communities especially the hard to reach area and build a good relationship with the opinion leaders and people of the communities.
