The Ahafo Region on Friday, 21st March, 2025 bid an emotionally charged, fond farewell to a woman whose name has become synonymous with leadership and excellence in the field of education, Madam Lucy Ama Ankrah, the foundation Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service since the creation of the Ahafo Region in 2019.
In a grand ceremony, organized by the Ghana Education Service and its partner organisations, the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. (Mrs.) Charity Gardiner together with the Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council, represented by Mr. Fritz Mensah, Deputy Director of Administration, presented a special citation and some cash donation to Madam Ankrah in recognition of her remarkable contributions to education in the Region.
The moment was not just a mere formality, it was a celebration of a legacy that has touched thousands of lives and elevated the entire educational landscape of the region.
The dignified event was attended by members of the clergy, Chiefs, Hon. Members of Parliament, former Regional Minister, Heads of Institutions, Teachers, Education Workers in the Region as well as selected students and the general public.
