AHAFO REGIONAL COORDINATING COUNCIL TEAM CONQUERS AHAFO MAY DAY GAMES.

The National Sports Authority (NSA) , Ahafo Region have organized the 3rd Edition of AHafo Regional May Day Games on Wednesday, 1st May, 2024 at Goaso Presby Park.

The Activities included, Men’s Football, Traditional Games and Table Tennis whilst Live Band and Health Screening were side activities.

The various participating teams were, Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council, Ghana Health Service, Ghana Police Service, VRA/NEDCO, Teachers, National Fire Service, Forestry Commission, Media Stations, Agric Department, Immigration Service , Banks and NASPA. The 2023 defending Champions were the Ghana National Fire Service who were eliminated in the Semi-Final by the Ghana Police Service Team who progressed to the final whilst the Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council Team also progressed to the final by knocking out VRA/NEDCO in the Semi final. AhRCC and Ghana Police Service played the fiercely contested final game as it travelled to penalty shootout. The Ahafo RCC Team won 5-3 against the Police Team in the penalty shootout. Ahafo RCC Team won the tournament in the 3rd Edition of the May Day Games.

Again , The Ahafo RCC Captain, Mr Ron Obeng Kwarteng was crowned the overall best player of the tournament.

In Conclusion, the atmosphere, the physicality and intensity of the players and the excitement and tension of the crowd all come together to creat an unforgetable event. Whether you are a die-hard fan or a casual spectator, watching a football match live is an experience that should not be missed.

Key personalities at the occasion were, Nana Akwasi Bosomprah I , Goaso Manhene, Mr. Sampson Amoako Kwarteng, Chief Director Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council, Mr Fritz Mensah, Deputy Director, Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council, The Ahafo Regional Police Commander, Hon. Haruna Mohammed, NDC parliamentary Candidate Asunafo North and other dignitaries
