The Ahafo Regional Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) team organized a two-day “Nsuo ne Nkwa” communication training at Zienel Oasis Hotel, Goaso from 25th March to 26th March, 2025. The training brought together WASH teams from across the region, along with selected traditional leaders, to enhance communication strategies and deepen community understanding of WASH related matters.
Delivering the welcome address, the Regional Economic Planning Officer, Mr. Jacob Adade Ntiamoah, urged all participants to fully engage in the workshop to strengthen their communication skills generally and in WASH particularly.
The Executive Director of Netcentric Campaigns, Mr. Martins Kearns, commended the teams for their dedication and commitment to WASH initiatives over the years. He encouraged them to remain steadfast in tackling water, sanitation, and hygiene challenges in the region.
The training was facilitated by Ogilvy Ghana, a leading communications and publicity organization. Their team introduced participants to new strategies and approaches in “Nsuo ne Nkwa” communication, aimed at improving public awareness and engagement on WASH matters. Future publicity plans were also outlined, with participants given the opportunity to contribute ideas.
Addressing participants at the workshop to officially open it, the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. (Mrs.) Charity Gardiner, expressed her gratitude to the various WASH teams and traditional leaders (Nananom) from all six districts and municipalities for honouring the invitation.

She emphasized the crucial role of effective communication in improving WASH conditions in local communities. Drawing inspiration from the popular quotation, “Water is life, sanitation is dignity, and hygiene is health,” she reiterated that these elements are fundamental human rights essential to improving living standards.
She further stressed that WASH initiatives should focus on transforming lives, protecting the vulnerable, and building resilient communities. Encouraging the participants, she urged them to be effective communicators, educators, and change agents in their communities. She called on them to empower their respective communities with clear, actionable information that enables residents to make informed decisions about their water, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
The Regional Minister also commended Netcentric Campaigns for their unwavering support in advancing WASH initiatives in the Ahafo Region. She expressed appreciation to Ogilvy Ghana for their strong partnership with Netcentric Campaigns in making the workshop a success. In conclusion, she pledged to be a WASH ambassador, advocating for improved sanitation and hygiene practices across the region.
To close the event, Netcentric Campaigns distributed seven Galaxy A06 smartphones to client service officers across the six districts and the regional office. These devices are intended to enhance service delivery, facilitate rapid response to issues, improve proactive outreach, and effectively manage complaints related to WASH services.
