The official working visit to the Municipal/District Assemblies by Ahafo Regional Minister Hon. George Boakye began today, August 23, 2022.

The Minister, along with some RCC staff and department heads, began a two-day tour of the Tano South District to familiarise himself with some ongoing projects within the district’s jurisdiction. According to him, the visit was part of a working tour of the Ahafo Region’s district assemblies.

The Minister took the opportunity to visit the communities of Bechem, Derma, and Techimantia. He cut sod for the construction of a 6 unit classroom block with ancillary facilities and furniture at Ohianimguase, He later commissioned a 2 unit classroom block at Achiase.

At the meeting with the traditional authorities, some of the most common requests made were for a vehicle for the newly built District Police Depot, as well as roads and police posts.

The Regional Minister responded by directing the Deputy Regional Police Commander to ensure the presence of police officers in the majority of the communities. He tasked Feeder Roads once more with overseeing the construction of the Techimantia Akwabo to Asuboi road.

The Hon. Regional Minister then pleaded with Nananom to keep the peace before, during, and after the appointment of a new Divisional Chief of Derma.
