AHK (GERMAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY) TO HOLD INVESTMENT EXHIBITION FOR AHAFO REGION.

On Monday 26th April, 2021, Delegate for the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK, Ghana), Mr. Burkhardt Hellemann, and his team welcomed a high-ranking delegation from Ahafo Region at the (AHK, Ghana) office in Accra.

The delegate for the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK, Ghana), Mr. Burkhardt Hellemann in his remarks, stated that his office and team will organize one-day trade and investment exhibition aimed at creating a platform for companies from German to explore areas of collaboration with Ahafo Region; adding that, one-day trade investment exhibition is aimed to attract 40 German companies, for the region to sell its investment opportunities.

The Regional Minister Hon. George Boakye in his address noted that, the interest of the Ahafo Region is to be able to deal decisively with the challenge of youth unemployment, and it is only the private sector that can lead the way to such economic growth and job creation for the region. He added that the doors of Ahafo are opened for investment opportunities. He called on the German government, companies, and investors to take advantage of the enabling environment to invest in the region as a way of deepening the commercial engagements between the German and the Region.

Present at the meeting were Richard Ekow Mensah, Head of DE international Services & Key Account Management Department; Ms. Harriet Botwe, Senior Project Manager for Events, Membership & Projects; Ms. Mawuwoe Kemevor, Senior Project Manager Events, Membership & Projects of the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana; NPP Asunafo South Constituency Chairman, Kwadwo Mensah, and a Special Aide to the Regional Minister, Antwi Moses.

Later in the day, as part of the numerous efforts by the Ahafo Regional Minister to foster skills development among the youth through the Ahafo – German cooperation on skills development (TVET) and youth employment initiatives, the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. George Boakye and his delegation held a fruitful discussion with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
