JAPANESE DEPUTY AMBASSADOR TO GHANA APPRECIATIVE TO AHAFO FOR THE CORDIAL RELATIONSHIP

The Deputy Head Commissioner for the Japan Embassy, Accra, Mr. OYAMA Hiromoto, met the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. George Boakye on Wednesday 21st April 2021 at the Japanese Embassy in Accra to discuss opportunities for further cooperation between Japan and Ahafo Region.

The discussion focused on people-to-people links between the two jurisdictions in the areas of education, health, trade, as well as the Ahafo diaspora community studying in Japan. The Ambassador remarked positively about the scholarships and health projects that have been awarded to the people of Ahafo for many years and thanked the region for the sustenance of the good relationship between the two parties.

Hon. George Boakye recalled the strengthened relations between Japan and Ahafo which have culminated into the signing of various agreements centering on CHIP compounds and others in the past years, adding that the region still needs more of such projects.

The Deputy Ambassador and the Regional Minister also discussed the strong educational, investment, and health links between Japan and Ahafo in the form of collaboration between Ahafo and their Japanese counterparts.

Present at the meeting were the First Secretary Head of Economic and Development Corporation, Mr. Shohei Sonoda; Coordinator for Economic Cooperation, Mr. Azuma Nozomi; NPP Asunafo South Constituency Chairman, Kwadwo Mensah and a Special Aide to the Regional Minister, Antwi Moses.
