The Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. (Mrs.) Charity Gardiner, on Thursday, 8th May,
2025, received a courtesy call from the Chief of Terchire, Nana Dr. Okoh Agyemang Boakye II, who led a delegation from the community to express their goodwill and discuss key development priorities.
During the visit, Nana Dr. Okoh Agyemang Boakye II warmly congratulated Hon. (Mrs.) Gardiner on her recent appointment as Regional Minister and thanked her for her swift and impactful visit to the Terchire community soon upon assumption of office. He acknowledged her leadership and accessibility as a positive signal for collective development pursuit in the region.


The delegation used the opportunity to appeal for government support to complete the community clinic in Terchire and upgrade it into a polyclinic, noting the increasing healthcare demands in the area. The Chief emphasized that the facility, once fully operational, would significantly enhance access to quality healthcare for residents in and around the community.
In addition, the Nana Dr. Okoh Agyemang Boakye II appealed to the Minister to facilitate the speedy completion of the boys’ and girls’ dormitory blocks at Terchire Senior High School which was commenced some time ago but had stalled due to funding challenges. In the opinion of the Chief, if completed, the facilities would improve accommodation and enhance the school’s learning environment.



In her remarks, Hon. (Mrs.) Gardiner expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council’s commitment to working closely with traditional leaders and stakeholders to address pressing community needs.
She indicated that the concerns were valid and aligned with the broader regional development agenda. Hon. (Mrs.) Gardiner assured the Chief of her readiness to engage the relevant agencies to explore how best to extend support towards the completion of the clinic and address the infrastructure needs at Terchire Senior High School.
The visit ended with mutual exchanges of well wishes and expressions of optimism about deepening collaboration for the benefit of the people of Terchire and the wider Ahafo Region.
