The Asunafo North Municipal Assembly has demonstrated great commitment in working to enhance water, sanitation, and hygiene services in communities accross Asunafo North. Despite the success chopped, there’s always more to learn and improve upon, the WASHDesk Team came together for a two-day refresher training program on April 16th-17th, 2025. This program was designed to provide the team with the required technical backstopping and skills needed for effective WASH service delivery.


Organized by the Netcentric Campaign in collaboration with the Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council, the event brought the WASHDesk Team together to deepen their understanding to elevate their work performance.
The training threw more light on the following key modules:
– Network Basics-Understanding how WASH networks operate and their importance in WASH service delivery.
– Network Leadership-Developing leadership skills to drive WASH initiatives effectively.
– The 7 Elements of Effective WASH Networks – Essential components that make a WASH network successful.
– WASH Desk Design and Goals -Structuring WASH Desks for maximum impact.
– Excelling in Client Service-Best practices in delivering efficient WASH-related customer service.
– Roles and Responsibilities of the WASHDesk Team – Understanding the specific duties of team members.
– Roles and Responsibilities of the WASH Advisory Group – The role of advisory groups in supporting WASH activities.
– MNotify User Guide – Training on how to use MNotify for effective communication and data management.
– Fostering Ongoing Network Engagement


Under the guidance and supervision of Charles Nutsuakor and Bismark Kusi as facilitators,the team well understood the WASH concepts and principles, allowing them to confidently tackle the complexities of WASH service delivery.
The team was entreated to put the theoretical part of the training into practice to enhance service delivery. The WASHDesk Team demonstrated what they had learned through practical exercises, simulating real-life WASHDesk operations, developing activity plans, and even role-playing client service scenarios. This hands-on approach allowed the team to reinforce their understanding of WASH concepts and principles, and to develop the skills and confidence they needed to succeed in their roles.
To ensure that the WASHDesk Team had fully grasped the material, each course module was followed by a comprehensive test. Successfully, all participants completed the tests and received a certificate of completion at the end of the training.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Mohammed Yakubu Alhassan in his closing remarks commended the NETCENTRIC campaigns for the commitment of resources towards the running of this program. He also tasked the ANMA WASH team to continuously exhibit professionalism and be dedicated towards the advancement of WASH services in the Municipality.
The Regional Economic Planning Officer, Mr. Jacob Ntiamoah emphasized on the importance of networking and the need to broaden the WASH network system. He added that, proper collaboration and coordination between the members of the WASH team will always foster excellent WASH service provision.


As the training came to a close, the team felt a sense of accomplishment and fulfilment.The WASHDesk Team had gained a deeper understanding of their roles and responsibilities, improved their collaboration and teamwork, and are willing to apply their new skills to improve WASH service delivery in the District. The Chairman of the Advisory group Mr. Evans Akingya, commended the team for their active engagement and encouraged them to continue promoting WASH.
The WASHDesk Refresher Training Program successfully executed and equipped the WASHDesk Team with the essential skills and strategies to enhance water, sanitation, and hygiene service delivery.
