The Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Charity Gardiner has embarked on a 4-day Courtesy visits to the Chiefs and Queen mothers of Traditional Councils in Ahafo Region from February 17 – February 21, 2025. The Ahafo Region is made up of thirteen (13) paramountcies.

The Hon Minister was accompanied by Senior Members of Staff of the Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) led by the Chief Director, Mr. Sampson Amoako Kwarteng, the Member of Council of State, Hon. Yaw Okyere, Regional and Constituency Executives of the governing National Democratic Congress, personnel of the Security Services and members of the media.
The courtesy visits were to afford the Hon. Regional Minister the opportunity to introduce herself to and familiarise herself with the Chiefs and people of the various traditional areas. She also used the platform to learn at first hand the developmental challenges confronting their areas as well as thank the chiefs sincerely for their support in diverse ways when she was appointed by His Excellency the President, John Dramani Mahama, as the Ahafo Regional Minister.

While extending the warm felicitations of His Excellency the President, Hon. Charity Gardiner assured the chiefs and people of her commitment to equitably distribute the national cake in the region. She solicited the prayers, guidance and support of the chiefs and their people to enable her succeed in the role as Regional Minister.

In addition, she espoused the laudable flagship policies of the government such as the institutionalisation of the 24 Hour Economy, the establishment of the Women’s Development Bank, Youth in Apprenticeship Programme among others.
On their part, the chiefs and people expressed their delight in the decision of His Excellency the President to appoint a female Regional Minister for Ahafo. They pledged their unflinching support to the Hon. Regional Minister and the President’s administration towards a holistic development of the region and the nation as a whole.
