A high-powered delegation from the Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs, led by the Nana President and Omanhene of the Ntotroso Traditional Area, Barima Twereko Ampem III, paid a courtesy visit to the Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council on Monday, 28th April, 2025.
The purpose of the visit was to engage with the Council on the allocation of land for the construction of an office complex for the Regional House of Chiefs.
The delegation which was made up of the Paramount Chiefs of the Mim, Kukuom, and Kenyasi No. 1 Traditional Areas, was warmly welcomed by the Chief Director,
Mr. Sampson Amoako Kwarteng, who extended greetings on behalf of the Regional Minister, Hon. (Mrs.) Charity Gardiner.

In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Kwarteng emphasized the significant role of the chieftaincy institution in fostering peace, development and the preservation of cultural heritage in the region. He also conveyed the Hon. Regional Minister’s deep appreciation for the ongoing collaboration between the Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council and the Regional House of Chiefs.
Barima Twereko Ampem III, in his brief statement, highlighted the pressing need for a dedicated office complex to support the efficient operation of the Regional House of Chiefs. He noted that the absence of a permanent office space has posed administrative challenges and hindered the autonomy of the House in carrying out its responsibilities effectively.

The traditional leaders expressed their eagerness for swift action in securing the land and reiterated their commitment to collaborating with the Regional Coordinating Council and other stakeholders to ensure the successful and timely completion of the project.
In his response, Mr. Kwarteng assured the delegation of the Regional Minister’s commitment to addressing the matter promptly. He mentioned that consultations with the relevant planning and land authorities would be expedited to identify and allocate a suitable parcel of land for the new office complex.
The meeting concluded with a shared agreement to maintain regular communication between the Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs and the Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council to ensure the smooth progress of this important initiative.
