VISIT OF THE REGIONAL PEACE COUNCIL TO THE AHAFO REGIONAL MINISTER, HON. (MRS.) CHARITY GARDINER

On 19th May, 2025, officials of the Ahafo Regional Peace Council paid a courtesy call on the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. (Mrs.) Charity Gardiner at her office. The purpose of the visit was to officially welcome the Minister and extend heartfelt congratulations on her appointment as the first female Regional Minister since the creation of the Ahafo Region in 2019.

During the meeting, the delegation expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to meet with the Minister and commended her historic appointment which they described as a significant milestone for the region and a source of inspiration for women in leadership.

The council also used the occasion to discuss matters of strategic importance regarding their operations in the region. Key among the issues raised were a request for the allocation of an office space at the newly constructed Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) administration block as well as financial support to effectively and efficiently carry out its mandated peacebuilding functions.

In response, Hon. (Mrs.) Charity Gardiner expressed her sincere gratitude for the visit and the warm congratulations extended to her. She acknowledged the critical role the Peace Council plays in maintaining harmony and social cohesion within the region.

The Minister, further assured the delegation of her unwavering
support and commitment to working closely with the Council to promote peace and development in the Ahafo Region.
The visit concluded in a positive note with both parties expressing mutual commitment to a collaborative and peaceful future for the region.
