Zoomlion Ghana Limited on Monday, 24th August 2026, undertook a free disinfection and fumigation exercise concurrently across the six districts of the Ahafo Region as part of a national sanitation initiative aimed at improving environmental cleanliness, preventing the spread of diseases and safeguarding public health.
The exercise, conducted in collaboration with the Regional and District Environmental Officers, targeted several public and high-risk areas, including public toilets, refuse dumps, communal waste collection points, markets, public washrooms, drains and gutters, and other selected public spaces.
Speaking during the exercise, the Ahafo Regional Manager of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Mr. Noble Nude, said the exercise was being implemented simultaneously across the six districts as part of the nationwide initiative. He explained that the programme was intended to support efforts to improve environmental sanitation and create healthier communities across the country.
Mr. Nude noted that the exercise was provided free of charge as part of Zoomlion’s contribution towards the national effort to improve sanitation and protect public health. He urged residents to complement the initiative by maintaining clean surroundings, practising proper waste disposal and observing good sanitation practices.
The Ahafo Regional Environmental Officer, Mr. Edwin Kwabena Nti, who spoke on behalf of the Ahafo Regional Minister and the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), commended Zoomlion Ghana Limited for undertaking the exercise.
Mr. Nti expressed appreciation to Zoomlion for supporting the RCC and government’s efforts to improve environmental sanitation across the region. He particularly thanked the company for providing the disinfection and fumigation exercise free of charge and called on residents to take responsibility for keeping their communities clean.
He further stressed the importance of sustained collaboration among Zoomlion, the RCC, Environmental Health Officers, District Assemblies and communities to ensure that the gains from the national sanitation initiative are maintained and that the Ahafo Region continues to enjoy a clean and healthy environment.
